Posting this picture, I so sorely felt the need for more collective nouns for flowers that I was forced to invent one. ‘A tumble’ was my first thought, but then I remembered that the best collective nouns are more quirky.
As they all seemed to be looking in different directions, I chose ‘an inspection’, but it could just as easily have been ‘an introspection’. You might have a better idea – if so let me know!
The colour is not true to life – too purple – but I liked the petals’ iridescence and the way light is falling.
Shared for Cee’s Flower of the Day.
Beautiful purple carpet
Once they decide to flower, they really go all out!
Ohh this is so very beautiful 😀 😀
Thanks, Cee. They are trouble free plants here, if you can overlook the odd insect bite.
Lovely.
These have survived inauspicious conditions and neglect, although it turns out that a little watering doesn’t come amiss. They seem to like the admiration too!
As soon as I read your word ‘iridescence’, I thought – ‘Why not an iridescence of campanulas?’. Well, why not?
Why not, indeed?
Such a lovely colour and I think quite true to life. I do like the idea of an ‘introspection’ of campanula.
That’s my favourite too. It is as if the camera is picking up UV light.
For some reason I saw a “giggle” of campanula. Something very cheerful about them.
That’s very apt.
I will have to think about this. They do seem to have something of a busybody demeanor, interested in so many things all around. Glorious color, true or not!
Perhaps the mistake I am making is to imagine they are all thinking the same thing. I would be happy to have a plant that was this colour, although the original which is more like a harebell blue is very evocative too.
A ‘cascade’ of Campanulas? Very pretty flowers and a lovely colour even if not quite true to life 🙂
‘Cascade’ would work too! They are bluer than they seem here.
Delightful colour! What species of Campanula?
It’s one of the low growing, alpine forms, possibly Campanula portenschlagiana or Campanula garganica.
So lovely 💜💜💜
They always seem as if they aspire to be elsewhere and they are doing their best to get there.
What a true delight! I shall feast on this sumptuous fare for a good while…thank you for that image 💜💜💜
