This boldly coloured azalea has been underplanted with green alkanet to cover its woody lower stems. You might remember this plant from my recent Is This a Forget-me-not? post.

That is a winning combination. I really like the combination of purple and orange or red and purple.
The azalea is a colour combination all on its own.
Beautiful in complementary colors.
They’ve got the hot colour/cold colour idea down!
Wow.
You could hardly miss it, could you?
Beautiful combination of colours, I love azaleas 🙂
I never used to like them, but I’ve changed my mind since seeing them growing wild. I’m much more open to their boldness too.
Oh what beautiful flowers for today 😀
Thanks, Cee. 🙂
beautiful flowers! 🙂
Thank you!
What a profusion of colours. I would love to wear those colours.
Thanks for sharing

The colours and patterns of nature are a gift for fabric designers.
i love the saturation and vibrancy of the complementary colors
Me too – it’s a great way to brighten up the edges of a woodland garden.
This is so beautiful
As Laurie pointed out, the buds make a lovely contrast to the open petals.
Absolutely ❤
If ever a flower looked like fire, this is it. I seem to have a distant memory of some kind of wood burning which featured these exact colors. Next to the cool blue, I have to wonder if this is what the young folks call “smokin’.” Beautiful capture!
The brightness of azaleas used to put me off, but these days I embrace it. My dad always liked to see them. But you’re right, their colours are like fire, especially if some of the yellow ones are added in too.
