This yellow HGV has a story to tell. The artwork shows a butterfly soaring above domesticated rabbits in a flower field. It bears the dedication:
In memory of my loving wife Lynsey Ackroyd
but in spite of the sadness I felt reading that, I couldn’t help but smile to see this celebration on wheels. A few of the phrases written on it sounded like premonitions of the likely response, including:
- Well what do you expect
- Unbelievable
- I don’t know who you think you are

The lorry was super-clean and shiny. It looked especially arty with the buildings opposite reflected in the paintwork, which made the bunnies and a friendly robin look even more like they inhabited a dream world.
The lorry demonstrates my fondly-held theory that we are all normal, and all eccentric.
Shared for the weekly photo challenge: smile. Coincidentally, this is my second animal and vehicle combination of the week. If you missed it, the first (a dog on a Vespa) may make you smile too.

I thought the house was painted on the truck as well.. perhaps the house they’d lived in. This is a spectacular photo…and I love the truck.
It does look like part of the design.
Absolutely gorgeous. One cannot help but smile. Wonderful entry. cheers.
The sunny day accentuated its sunny character.
What a fabulous lorry. My daughter loves rabbits and was in awe when i showed her your photos.
I’m glad you showed her. I’m still a guinea pig girl at heart.
Love it – what a great tribute
It’s the lorry version of wearing your heart on your sleeve.
Lovely HGV to have such a heart-warming story attached.
I can’t imagine people writing ‘Lovely HGV’ too often – although that may say more about me than about HGVs.
I guess we’re both in a bunny kind of mood today.
Yes – yours are so cute.
I certainly did smile when I saw the dog on the bike. That truck made me smile, too. What a story painted and written!
Perhaps someone will write a story about this HGV – move over, Thomas!
That’s amazing, and it looks like Peanut (https://smallbluegreenwords.wordpress.com/2015/08/24/the-rebellious-rabbit/ ) on the last photo! Where did you see this beauty then Susan?
Looks like Peanut has been moonlighting as a model. It was in Scarborough.
Wouldn’t put anything past that rabbit!
Wow, that’s great!
That yellow colour really lifts the design.
A Smile-mobile!
Wonderful. What a great tribute to the person who has passed on to be remembered in this way.
You seem to sense her bubbly character, don’t you?
I agree!
That is so wonderful.
I’m glad you liked it.
What a fantastic lorry, I love it! 🙂 🙂
The yellow smiles suit it perfectly 🙂
