This yellow HGV has a story to tell. The artwork shows a butterfly soaring above domesticated rabbits in a flower field. It bears the dedication:
In memory of my loving wife Lynsey Ackroyd
but in spite of the sadness I felt reading that, I couldn’t help but smile to see this celebration on wheels. A few of the phrases written on it sounded like premonitions of the likely response, including:
- Well what do you expect
- Unbelievable
- I don’t know who you think you are
The lorry was super-clean and shiny. It looked especially arty with the buildings opposite reflected in the paintwork, which made the bunnies and a friendly robin look even more like they inhabited a dream world.
The lorry demonstrates my fondly-held theory that we are all normal, and all eccentric.
Shared for the weekly photo challenge: smile. Coincidentally, this is my second animal and vehicle combination of the week. If you missed it, the first (a dog on a Vespa) may make you smile too.
That is so wonderful.
I’m glad you liked it.
What a fantastic lorry, I love it! 🙂 🙂
The yellow smiles suit it perfectly 🙂
What a great find and a beautiful tribute.
I thought so too.
What a wonder! I am partial to the bunny in what looks like a Santa hat. It’s amazing how cute and winsome those garden gluttons can look. Equally amazing the capacity of the human spirit for expressing grief.
It does look like a Santa hat. There are so many interesting little touches on the design. You can tell it has been made with love.
Really cheerful picture.
I bet the driver gets plenty of smiles and waves.
What a loving tribute, she must have been very special. I couldn’t find her obituary, but saw a message (posted June 1, 2016) at gazettelive.co.uk: “ACKROYD LYNSEY (nee Honeyman) Thinking of our much loved daughter on her 30th birthday. Miss you today and forever. Love, Mam, Dad, brother Jason and husband Steve. Love you to the moon and back xxxx.”
She must. Thanks for adding this in.
That’s some incredible art work!
You’d have to see it to believe it.
How remarkable! 🙂 Beautifully done.
I’m glad you liked it. 🙂
Well it makes you happy just to see that, doesn’t it! It must be the yellow.
It would brighten up the greyest day.
