Tina has invited us to post pictures from 2022 that we’ve not so far shared. I have so many to choose from, but I’ve picked some out that, for me, have an evocative sense of place. I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

Shared for the Lens-Artists Challenge: Last Chance.

Thank you!
Joanna
My pleasure.
Lovely pictures, I like the last one for the colours but my favourite is the first one, it looks so pretty 🙂
It’s nice to see all this colour in the depth of winter.
Love your tendency to the quirky, Susan. The beads and stones really appealed and I laughed at your facing off monsters. Hope you had a lovely Christmas.
I’m glad you liked the monsters.
Thank you for your many beautiful pictures through the year,
Thanks so much for your kind comment.
I’m intrigued by those strands of beads and I love the camellia tree!
The camellia was very grand. Actually there were several!
Oh these are fun and often quirky offerings. I’m glad they got their 15 minutes of fame each.
I’m glad you liked them.
A sense of place! Oh, yes! In so many different ways. Those pool monsters were an LOL moment for me, but that white house with the white curtain in the window and the white blossoms and blue planters was a sigh. I want to move in today! Some places do speak to us like that. The house in the top photo shows that pink is not necessarily a demure color. An admirable imagination there! Thanks for this little trip to other places.
I didn’t think the colour of the pink house showed up quite as well in the picture as it did in life. I’m planning a post at some stage that will show it better.
I like Suzie Cranston’s birdhouse garden and the camellia tree best. And the wheel gate is cool too.
You don’t get gates like that around here!
Beautiful scenes of springtime as most of us suffer through some of winter’s worst! Thanks so much for jumping in Susan and Happy Holidays to you and yours
It was fun joining in, Tina. I hope 2023 is getting off to a good start.
Before I forget again, I never answered your question about which gardens were mentioned in the Mississippi advertisements featured in Houston media. Nothing specific was named; it was only a generalized statement that if you want to see gorgeous gardens, come to Mississippi.
I smiled at the comments above about the beads. I noticed them first, and knew exactly what they were. Someone was letting les bon temps rouler! The bottle tree brought a smile, too. I couldn’t quite decide if it was for Christmas or Mardi Gras, or even green for St. Patrick’s Day, but I love it.
St Patrick’s Day was correct. I don’t want to undermine the marketing people, but I’d love to see their list! I’d find it easier to list Texan ones, but perhaps I’m missing out.
Great finds 🙂
Thank you!
Your typically excellent compositions
Thanks, Derrick.
