I think the blotch is lagniappe – the brick showing through.

I like the bit of color on the upper left tomato. It almost looks enameled: very pretty. And of course, taken as a whole, this isn’t what I expected when I read your clever title!

It’s at RHS Bridgewater, in the vegetable/test garden (go through the entrance beside the two large glasshouses) – so far as I remember.
