The flush of pink helps. I should have looked for a proper cabbage rose really but I tend to ‘use’ those as soon as I find them.
Reminds me of wallpaper in my grandmother’s front parlor, with huge roses on it, that my mom said were cabbage roses…. thanks for the memory, I’d forgotten all about that.
The true cabbage ones have a more rounded shape than this rose, and are usually pink, but I was tempted by the bold colour.
A nice coupling
Thanks, Derrick.
Wow!
This is really amazing 🙂
Thank you!
A healthy beginning and fragrant end.
My sweetheart said I should have added some rows of cabbages too. That was a missed opportunity.
They always know better, but they don’t blog….
How are you doing – not stuck anywhere I hope? I saw you out and about on Margaret’s blog earlier.
Good, thanks! Just a little jaded after all the excitement and travel, but back home in one piece.
Oh good.
Love them both Susan 🙂
I’m glad.
That cabbage makes a great photo subject (and ‘rose’).
They are easier to photograph because they stay still, while the roses are always mid-bob.
The cabbage rose is constellar! (I think I just made up a word.) To me, it looks much like the photos we’re seeing from the Webb telescope, with the magnificent explosions and swirls of constellations and lights of all sorts. It’s beautiful, and deserving of “rose,” though that grape-colored rose might huff a bit.
I’ve been enjoying the space pictures too. Quite incredible.
Dare I say it? I think the cabbage is prettier than the rose. It’s truly beautiful!
Of course you dare!
What a great comparison. 😃
I should perhaps have picked a pink one, but the purple one demanded to be posted.
Such a pretty one!
Thanks, Eliza.
They really are quite similar!

The top one is a good abstraction.
Thanks, Steve. I liked the touch of pink.
