Something cheerier today – one of nature’s many blessings. I’ve quite a collection of pictures of hydrangeas in antique, autumnal colours, but have selected this for its clear, uplifting colour and the freshness of the raindrops.
While I’m calling it lavender-blue, there’s a good hint of pink. It’s wonderful how the colours of hydrangeas change. Could this one be heading towards the bold red of the flowers glimpsed in the background?

It’s an uplifting colour, at this stage.
Their appearance similar to a popcorn ball has always put me off but this one is lovely made lovelier by the rain drops.
There are so many types, but they are generous plants. I’ve long suspected that the ones that are not pruned do best round here.
My favourite colour of Hydrangeas – the Azores are a haven and heaven of these in hedges 3-4 meters high. Now you made me want to go back there again…
