A lovely vision and a great taste; I’m on my second cup of coffee and chicory for the morning. I grew to like it in Louisiana, and every now and then I find it in the stores.
Mama sometimes used to drink it (my grandmother). I’ve always thought she did it when she was economising as it was cheap at the time, so it’s good to know you can get a taste for it.
How beautiful! I think I’ve not seen chicory before, and I had no idea it had such flowers. Thank you!
The asters steal its thunder, but the flowers are lovely. They have a habit of seeming to scramble in thin air.
So pretty! Love the detail in the center. Definitely a sign of late summer, early fall for me!
It’s one of those plants it’s always a surprise to see – a nice surprise!
One of my favorite flowers. And to think that some people consider it a weed. Silly folks!
Silly, though it has a wispy rather than a sturdy habit, which perhaps accounts for it.
Amazing detail with the raindrops!
It rained a lot that day and there was very little shelter. The flowers looked better scattered with raindrops than we humans did.
So pretty, I had no idea!
Its roots are more celebrated than its flowers.
This is so beautiful. I love chicory. ♥
That makes me happy to have shared it.
A pretty ‘new’ flower for me.
It’s not a flower I often see, but its striking when you do happen upon it.
Lovely bejewelled shot
I was bejewelled myself when I took it, though it didn’t become me as well.
🙂
beautiful
These were the plant version of tinsel – a little straggly, but covered in blue stars.
Love this description 💙
I didnt’ realize this was chicory. Does that mean you can eat it?
Chicory buds, leaves and roots can all be consumed.
Lovely.
Thanks Timothy.
