Leucanthemum x superbum ‘Old Court’ is a quirky, spirited, ornamental, spidery double that takes wild to a whole new level. It’s one of my favourite flowers at any British flower show.
Butterflies and bees like it, it mixes wonderfully with other flowering perennials and would be a good, home-grown cut flower.
I’m using the name from the plant labels on the Holden Clough Nurseries stand at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, but you’ll find a good number of synonyms listed online which may or may not be the same plant, including:
Old Court Shasta Daisy
Leucanthemum x superbum ‘Beauté Nivelloise’
Chrysanthemum maximum ‘Beauté Nivelloise’
As I may have mentioned before, this flower makes my hair seem firmly under control. Well, assuming it’s not windy outside!
