Weekend Whimsy: Smiling Flower

Smiling lily

I’ve been trying to write a post for the weekly photo challenge but it’s all been going ‘orribly wrong. Various drafts and ideas later, I have a plea for help awaiting the attention of the WordPress Happiness Engineers as I’ve somehow succeeded in losing the attachment pages for some of my most recent rose pictures. That means if you click ’em, you get a non-too-entertaining-after-a-while ‘Oops’ error message page.

Safari has piqued my sense of irony by suggesting I short cut the process and skip direct to the error page in future, by helpfully(?) listing it among my favourite internet pages. Safari has a point. I need to change tack. I need something cheerful.

So I’m sharing this picture of a smiling flower. It may not be my best picture, but you have to admit it’s cheery. And I’ll also indulge in an:

In with anger (to be said while breathing inwards)
and an
Out with love (to be said while exhaling deeply. There are soothing hand gestures to go with it too, but I’ll have to leave those to your imagination). That’s a cure for most ills.

I hope you’re having a very happy weekend and, if things are not going perfectly, that this flower will be the tonic you need. I’m confident that most of my regular visitors will spot it, but for anyone who can’t, it’s the one in the bottom right.

I’m linking to Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge. Normal service will be resumed before too long.

    1. Thankyou! If I could just reload them, everything would be fine, but the laws of the universe being what they are, I don’t have them with me.

  1. I simply never do photo challenges. Makes life a little more simple. “WordPress Happiness Engineers”? That’s an oxymoron. I love the lilies.

    1. I’ve always found them very kind when I’ve asked about anything. The challenges add a wildcard – I enjoy the blog more because I’m not in total control. I’ve worked for so long in an arena where something happens to disrupt your day that it feels eerie for things to tick along exactly as planned for too long. I suppose that kind of attitude is what makes you end up needing the Happiness Engineers!

    1. It would probably be simpler all round if we all moved over to the new, simplified editor, but the old editor has so many useful features.
