A witty placement of a veiled stone head at Gresgarth Hall Gardens in NW England. She’s ‘clothed’ in box topiary that has been trimmed into a cube.
She’s positioned near the door so it’s easy to imagine her as a kind of guardian angel.

It looks like she’s rising from the earth!
A different kind of green lady, perhaps?
Yes! I love the very idea of it!
This (she) is lovely! 🙂
Very fun isn’t she?!
I like her. I’m not sure if you can apply ‘patina’ to stone, but she’s ageing beautifully, so far as stone goes!
This is stunning and yet disturbing. I think it might scare kids 🙂
It took me aback when I first saw it. But she has a gentle face.
I wonder how long this would take to create.
I’m not sure. I can’t help wondering if it is an ingenious fix for a problem – perhaps the lady has a broken base or she filled a gap in the box topiary.
If it’s a fix, it’s a great one.
I like her hair & scarf. The model probably was a beautiful maiden.
She has a Mona Lisa style face – you find yourself reading her expression different ways.
