My snowdrops are flourishing in snowless Virginia this season. Love them.
They’re providing the impression of snow for you.
Aren’t they lovely? Never seen them here.
They’re the kind of plants you’d half-expect would grow everywhere, perhaps because they brave our cold weather, but my sweetheart doesn’t have them in Mississippi either.
🫣💗
These snowdrops looks so fresh 😀 😀
They last a surprisingly long time, from the buds first showing.
These lovely early spring flowers help chase away the winter blues.
We’ve got a different type of winter blues today – blue skies!
Wowsah!
Every snowdrop opens with a ‘wowsah!’ You can see it waiting in the bud (if someone tips you off about it).
Snowdrops are not common in Maine, and believe it or not, I don’t ever recall seeing them.
Lovely photo Susan 🙂
We’re finally getting new flowers to practice on.
Love this time of year!
I don’t know if you’ll have snowdrops – snowflakes, like my sweetheart, perhaps. (That doesn’t read quite right, but you know what I mean!)
Hee hee. I know what you mean. 😉
I wish we did have snowflakes in the yard. They will grow here I just have to find some. We just bought/moved into this home during the pandemic. Love the ephemerals! Xoxoxox
Oh and hurry over! Xoxox
Beautiful!
Thank you.
Thank you! What bright little bits of optimism — they do insist on hope!
Laurie has made me see them as all collectively emerging with a wowsah! – that image will tide me through the afternoon.
Ah – it looks as though you too are overrun with this most delightful of flowers.
Not as overrun as I’d like! I think I’d be happy to have them flowering on my living room carpet, provided I had paths to the doors. (Second thoughts, that implies no roof. I’ll stick to the normal carpet.)
As well. Truly, everywhere is carpeted here (not inside the house …)
Well ahead of ours
These were in York. It seemed to have a slightly milder climate than where I live, although I wouldn’t have expected that.
Such pretty, delicate flowers. They always remind me of the Lily of the Valley I grew up with.
We had some in the garden when I was growing up too.
