I’m sharing another vignette from last month’s Southport Flower Show.
While it may look like a flower bouquet, this regal-looking dahlia was actually part of a display of patio plants by I & S Nurseries.

How very raspberry! I could sit and look at these for a long time, and I think I just did. Dahlias are such show-offs, and have every reason to be. I note the dahlia bud in the middle, determined to outdo its elders. Dahlias as patio plants — what an intriguing thought!
As a bud connoisseur, of course you would have your eye on that.
Very pretty flowers and a great photo, I love it 🙂
Thanks, Eunice.
A lovely portrait.
They had the tumbling style that makes them irresistible.
This is lovely.
Thanks, Jude.
Oh what a gorgeous dahlia and photo 😀
It has a lovely crimson-red heart, doesn’t it.
Oh, how beautiful! A delightful image to look at, Susan!
I’m glad you liked it.
Love the colours of this one.
I have a weakness for the bicolors – they’re so decorative.
You filled the frame well.
Thanks, Steve. I liked the effect of the leaves against the background too – they had a heraldic quality, although they are far from perfect or designed.
Perhaps the heraldic quality rubbed off from—or onto—the photographer.
This is the dahlia’s time of the year and these are lovely, Susan.
I once saw a whole bed of them at Rousham, pretty much at their peak – a sight I’ll never forget.
Excellent framing – as usual
They were posing beautifully and pretty much I had to do was click.
Probably my most favorite flower other than Irises 😍😍😍
That makes me very happy to be able to share them.
They certainly managed to set the flowers up well for that display! Gorgeous!
