Me too. It’s the only colour I ever think is missing in a garden.
The plumbago takes my breath away. I’ve never been lucky with this flower, but isn’t it glorious when it blooms.
Yes it is. I’m not sure I have captured the true colour here, but it is always a touch startling.
Blue-tiful! 🙂
Perfect – I may recycle that one day, with your permission!
🙂 Absolutely!
These look beautiful💜💜
Thank you. And thank heavens for blue flowers!
Blue, blue, my favorite color.
A good choice. I never know what to say when asked.
I’m always astonished at how bright blue in the garden makes everything else look brighter. I do covet that plumbago.
Blue really lifts the garden, as you say. I’ve just been reading about the effects of latitude on colours. Did you find you needed different colours to paint in California to where you are now?
That’s an interesting thing to ponder. I’ve worked very little with color, having been smitten by graphite and also having been a novice at it all. But I do remember how the experienced painters struggled with color nuances I couldn’t even see. I’m sure there’s something to that thought about latitude.
I will remember these. I am planting blue flowers in memory of my daddy. Bluebird blue was his favorite color. Most of his shirts and coats were blue. Gosh I miss him.
That will be a lovely tribute to him. We don’t have bluebirds over here, except in songs and folklore. I wish we did.
oh what gorgeous blues
I was surprised to find that I have relatively few pictures of pure blue hydrangeas. I’d expected to have had a lot.
I don’t have any! They don’t like my soil around here so have not grown any for years. I do like them
Dazzling
I think of blue as being a subtle, steady colour, but you’re right to point out that most of these are vibrant.
🙂
💙💙💙💙💙 each one a true beauty
There’s something special about blue flowers – many of them are little surprises.
Oh yes definitely! I wonder why…also there’s very little blue food.
Susan, I so adored your blue flowers. Wonderfully beautiful 😀
Blue is such a great colour in the garden. Come to think of it, I like it on pretty much anything – doors, cars…
They are so beautiful… 😊❣💐
I’m glad you like them.
😊❣️
Love blue flowers 💙💜💙
