Lilium Marlon has huge, wonderfully scented, upward-facing flowers, held on sturdy stems. Each petal has a wavy edge, traced out in white, and a smattering of freckles.
This flower caught my eye because its bountiful fallen pollen makes it look in need of a bib.

A beauty is right! Your picture is so vivid that I can almost catch the scent of the flower.
This is one bold lily, that’s for sure.
Thank you for the laugh — you caught me off-guard with the bib! But you are exactly right. One would think such an exotic beauty would be more fastidious.
At least it is holding its pollen up – if it had landed on cream paintwork, someone would be gnashing their teeth.
I love the scented lilies and this one I can almost smell right here. It’s gorgeous, Susan!
Lilies have such a powerful scent too.
Beautiful
Thanks, Sheree.
I like the bib 🙂
Thanks, Derrick.
Beautiful. Our pink oriental lilies have not come up this year.
Oh dear. I wonder if they have been fodder for something.
Oh they are beautiful! Thank you for the glorious capture!
My pleasure, Aggie.
A great shot, a beautiful flower, and a gorgeous colour 🙂
Thank you – I’m glad you liked it.
So lovely – I can only imagine how good it smells!
To challenge your imagination further, they were on a lily stand, so almost overpowering close up.
Very lovely lily!
Thank you!
So lovely
Thanks!
You’re welcome
