Our friend, Bill, is growing on a collection of acers in large pots. He pointed out this one out as his favourite for its autumn colour. I can see why!
It seemed eminently suitable for sharing as my contribution to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Red.

Such a gorgeous colour 🙂
It was very eye-catching.
Such a delicious shade of red, I have one maple in pot but would love to add more.
They are wonderful plants.
Oh, that is some red – I can see why it’s Bill’s favourite! 🙂
Me too! He had another one I really liked which was oranges and russets.
The leaf colour reminds me of the rich pink of the Watermelon I had for dinner tonight, Susan. It was the brightest pink/red I’ve seen in a Watermelon for many years.
I hope it tasted as good as it must have looked.
It did, Susan. It was soooo sweet. Must be right in the peak of the season I suppose.
Brilliant color.
‘Brilliant’ works at more than one level. 🙂
The sun was punching it up, but it would still have been very striking in shadow.
Are these type of plants always so brillantly coloured or is this a good year?
Some acers are more brightly coloured than others under the same conditions but I’m sure the weather that particular year affects whether they stop producing chlorophyll sooner or later, and encourages the leaves to stay on the trees for longer or shorter time.
