Rosehips are under-appreciated, I think. This is a lovely clump, and I especially like pink summer remnant on the side. Very nice indeed!
The faded one is sweeter for being the youngest in a cluster.
Very nice.
Thanks, David.
Nice clump. And they remind me of the time I burnt out the motor on my mother’s blender when I tried to make rosehip jam. Fortunately, my mother took it in stride.
Oops – that sounds like some super persistent blending! Glad your mother was so good natured about it. I had a domestic incident this week. I tried to sand a door to stop it sticking and in the process wedged the door so firmly shut that I pulled the handle off in an attempt to get it open. I imagine my face was a picture.
Goodness, goodness! The pitfalls of projects.
Pretty in a sad end of summer kind of way.
I was impressed how the plant could still be flowering even with so many hips.
Beautiful photo
Thank you.
What a lovely and poetic arrangement without words. I really LOVE it!!!
I’m glad you like it too. It made my heart leap when I spotted it.
wonderful photo. The past with the wilted rose and the present with the rosehips and the promise for the future of jam or tea!
That’s a great way of looking at it! 🙂
What do you do with rose hips? anything interesting?
I’ve used commercially made rose hip oil in aromatherapy, but that’s about it. A recipe for rose hip syrup appeared in my Reader a few days ago. It looked good.
Beautiful
Thank you, Leya.
