Beautiful color combination!
I’m glad you liked it. Those purple star-shaped flowers seem perfectly scattered – one of nature’s lovely touches.
What a wonderfully frothy start to my day! Thank you!
My pleasure. I cheated with this picture because I wanted the peonies to look as if they were in a garden setting, even though they were cut flowers. I spent some time wandering around the Forest of Bowland with the vase looking for a good spot to put it. I found quite a few places but this was my favourite.
I did notice the “cheat,” but I thought it added kind of a wink, and I like winks. I do love the image of your wandering around with the vases, looking for a the right placement. I bet there were any number of chipmunks scratching their heads, wondering what you were about.
You made a very good choice. This is a lovely picture.
Thanks Oneta.
Not to break the silence–but that sure is a glorious image. Lovely to open my email and see this:)
Thank you! I like seeing flowers against a tapestry-effect backdrop, which is what I was aiming for.
A delightful sight
I could have cropped a little tighter on the flowers but wanted to show the artifice of the staged against the natural. Now I’m wondering how many people will have spotted the vase – it’s fairly unobtrusive.
I didn’t notice until you pointed it out. Interesting. Maybe we see only what we think we are seeing?
It was quite well hidden – and if you’re anything like me, you’re often growing on a phone which makes it more difficult to catch all the details.
What a beautiful textures and colours combination!!! I will have to try it out with my peonies.
I like to see large flowers combined with many smaller ones – that way they can really shine.
Gorgeous. Where did you take this photo please – my peonies aren’t even in bud yet…..??? But the roses are… Not sure that I understand what is happening this Spring! Simone
I’ve noticed roses flowering earlier this year too. This is one of last year’s shots, and I was having a bit of fun with some cut flowers… but those fat buds of yours will be bursting into flower soon enough!
Stunning!
I’d love to be able to visit a flower farm or a peony garden one year. They must be magical at the just right time, in soft light…. am I drifting off into fantasy here?
Oh peonies are made for dreams 😀
Absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks Anne.
Luscious!
Thanks Eliza.
Love peonies. Just wish they bloomed longer.
Repeat flowering peonies… now that would be a dream come true!
