Have you ever seen such a bold mixture of plants as in this living flower sampler? I love their rich jewel colours and contrasting textures.
Shared for the weekly photo challenge: Dense. This shot is a bit impressionistic, but I hope it meets the brief.

It’s the impressionistic look that makes it so stunning! Wonderful.
Thanks – it’s a creative tangle.
I love these colors.
Me too!
Striking shot! M
Thanks Meg. It’s certainly colourful!
Wonderfully colorful, love it!
As Oddment put it below, it’s caffeine for the eyes!
Hahah! 😄 It is!
It’s like a bouquet arrangement without the cutting.
That’s a great description.
Densely planted so works for me AND the challenge 🙂
I saw it at Hampton Court a few years ago and thought it was stunning.
It is beautiful.
beautiful photo!
Lovely lavender & purples.
The idea behind the planting was to show the benefit colour can bring to grey spaces and it certainly achieved that.
It did!
That’s dense alright. But in such a good way.
A beetle’s fun fair perhaps?
Love the dense purples.
People seem to respond well to purple in a garden. One of my most popular posts is a blue, white and purple garden, from Hampton Court. I think this was the same year.
The chartreuse and purple are a stunning combination.
In theory they are opposite colours, aren’t they? – or approaching that.
Great shot Susan, love these plants for their colour and vibrancy.
The idea was to beautify a wheelie bin area as part of the Community Street Garden. The bins themselves were covered by a structure with a green roof. I’d love to see it in my community, that’s for sure!
Gorgeous! And a great response to the challenge. But best of all, you’ve taught me a new word and I love it. 🙂
I’ve been trying to think what the opposite of it might be, without much success.
