Hello spring! Lovely.
My middle name – spelt Iiris 🙂
How pretty! I haven’t heard of that before.
It’s Finnish. Phonetically pronounced.
How lucky you are to visit some of the best gardens again and again, especially Gresgarth and Wollerton Old Hall. Can I come stay with you for a month or two?
It’s a case of the grass looking greener, I think – I feel just the same about you! I’d love to visit Gresgarth every month it’s open, though I’m way off achieving that!
Beautiful flowers!
So uplifting – wonderful bright spring colours to brighten up today which has turned out windy and wet – again.
It was pretty wild here too – I finished posting this, went to the window and discovered everything was covered in snow.
Always loved the purple iris!
I’m not familiar with this type: it was like a cross between an iris and a crocus, though I’d find it hard to justify why I’m saying that.
What are the little white ones in the middle picture? I’ve seen them somewhere before.
They’re double snowdrops – we’re more used to seeing them hanging down, but I wanted to show their petticoats.
Ok. I know where I saw them. Jane Basil has them in the header on her blog.
I love crocus forests.
That’s a great term for them. They weren’t easy to photograph as they were dancing around – it was pretty windy.
A dancing crocus forest has a lot of potential.
Lovely bit of spring!
Beautiful, Susan! Makes me long for mine to come up all the more!
