I couldn’t resist sharing a sneak peak from my most recent visit to one of my favourite gardens, Gresgarth Hall in Caton, Lancashire for their Hellebore Open Day.
I always like to know when people who really live and breathe the garden think is the best time to visit. One of the garden team suggested three times a year – in spring, summer and autumn – to get a flavour of how the garden looks in different seasons.
When pressed, he confessed that springtime is one of his favourites: looking down from the hillside over a sea of trees in full blossom is a magnificent sight. Sadly I don’t think I’ll be able to make it this spring. Perhaps next year!
I hope you’re not getting weary of hellebores: I’ve a few more pictures to share in a later post – unless everyone pleads for mercy!
I’m posting this as part of Tuesday Treasured Tidbits: my tidbit of joy from last week.
Absolutely stunning photos. Can not wait till spring.
How can anyone get tired of hellebores! I only have one and it is pure white, but I love it 🙂
They’re gorgeous. I loved my hellebores in my winter garden. Now I’ve just got a pot of primroses. More hellebores please.
I love Hellebores! Wonderful images 🙂
I agree with Heyjude – we could never get bored of beautiful hellebores:)
Reblogged this on Pacey-Buck Garden Design and commented:
Wonderful Hellebores.
How beautiful they are! Your photos are exquisite. This is my first Hellebore ‘sighting.’ Do they have a scent?
Thank you for participating in Tuesday Treasured Tidbits!
Who could ever tire of Hellebores? Bring ’em on!
