While I was gathering pictures for yesterday’s post on rambling roses, I found this red climbing rose. It’s rather spindly, but no less romantic for that – full of flowers, and naturally arching.

A very pretty doorway – I think red and light grey go well together 🙂
You’re right – the colour adds a classic touch, being so beautifully matt.
I don’t know about “spindly.” I think it knows how splendid its red splash against the stone and so it allows the stone to show for more dramatic effect. It is lovely!
I often think the spindly roses are the most romantic.
Red roses against stone work so well.
Especially as there’s a warm note to the stone.
The golden hour!
Ah, no. I was thinking the comment referred to my photo of red roses! I see yours is simply lovely golden cotswold or hamstone.
I haven’t seen that one yet. I’ll be over!
Spindly but oh so lovely!
The flowers seem to have the instinct to pull it in an arc on one side and anchor it on the other.
Oh how pretty are those roses around the door 😀
I’m glad you liked it. 🙂
Absolutely gorgeous
Something to dream over.
Ooooh…yes indeed 🌹🥀❤
Lovely! I need a doorway like this 😊
It’s interesting to see how a tiny strip of garden can look so nice.
This is just beautiful. Makes me want to live in Britain.
It is a classically British look.
Beautiful.
Thanks!
So special 🙂
It’s easy to see how red roses got their reputation.
