Pink flowers – possibly some form of echinacea – tumbling over each other as if to watch something. They’re at a concert and the ornamental grass is performing on stage, perhaps, or at a football match. An exciting one.
But we know that’s just fancy. Unlike us, the flowers don’t need a reason to be like this, they simply respond at a cellular lever to the sunlight, the soil and whatever moisture they can seek out.
Glowing with translucent light, they were were more than enough to stop me in my tracks.

Beautifully illuminated and captured. And I do love your imagination!
It’s harder to ignore what I see than to say it. They all seem to be jostling to get a better view.
What a lovely shot. And I like the idea of translucent light 😊
It’s funny how the scene in the picture isn’t like my memory of it. It doesn’t usually work that way.
They are obviously watching something. Our echinaceas look straight up all the time. Ours are stiff necked echinaceas.
These ones are channelling their inner octopus.
Creativity which is both fabulous and entertaining – I love it
Thanks, Becky!
With that much gorgeousness around, it would be hard not to be watching something all the time! I definitely think some are stretching tippy-toe to see over the others. Perhaps even a gentle leaf-nudge. We know it cannot be just a mere matter of cells.
Polite competition is how I’d frame it, but I see what you mean by the leaf-nudge.
Deep thoughts on the true nature of flowers!
The picture is framed to show the flowers as a clump and as a result, it feels like a community.
A splendid, cheery display Susan
Thanks, Louis. I hope it made you smile!
Where would we be without fancy? Beautiful flowers.
Nowhere at all. 🙂
They could be on a starting block, raring to go!
Marathon running daisies – indeed!
Maybe they’re watching a fight between a tulip and a pansy.
I’m betting on the tulip…
I don’t suppose much harm would be done. The tulip could nod on the pansy, or drop its petals on it.
I think Tithonia is my favorite flower for glowing with light coming from behind.
I’ll have to look out for those.
