Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge | Whimsically free-spirited

I met this bead-and-whistle-sporting Morris Man briefly a few months ago at the Saddleworth Rushcart. Let’s hope there will always be room for self-expression in this world of ours. 

It’s becoming an tradition for us to drive just over the border to enjoy the annual Saddleworth Morris Ring. For more flavour, take a look at last year’s post which includes some useful links.

I only took one picture of this morris dancer: a very nice guy. I’ll always appreciate his kindness in spending a little time explaining some of the finer aspects of the event to an interested stranger between the dances.

He was happy for me to capture a shot of his strikingly individual regalia with whistle and dolly mixture beads: a must-take picture, for me at least.

Cee hosts an array of popular photo challenges including the Odd Ball Challenge which has prompted me to share this picture. She helpfully defines Odd Ball as:

– a person or thing that is atypical, bizarre, eccentric, or nonconforming

adjective
– whimsically free-spirited, eccentric, atypical

Though neither bizarre nor eccentric, I will say this gentleman is whimsically free-spirited, so I’m confident my shot meets the brief.
