This is another mystery shrub rose from my photo library. It’s tough as well as beautiful: it was flourishing with little or no care in a cemetery in Mississippi.

It looks like a rugosa rose but they have all those tiny thorns. These don’t look like they have tiny thorns. Rugosa are tough for sure.
Could it be some sort of Camelia?
I’m sure it’s a rose – their flowers might look alike, but their leaves are very different. But thanks for your suggestion!
