It would be lovely to have seen the roses in flower – there are so many hips! – but I can’t complain, given all there was to see.

There was a vineyard up there too, but I always head for the roses, as you know.
I do believe there is a certain spikiness to the city, too! What a great image!
The hedge must be spectacular when the roses are flowering by the look of all those seed heads.
