Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Cars

Cee likes vintage cars, so I’ve included several, together with a couple of modern curiosities.

I don’t know if this really counts as recycling or as container gardening, but it always makes me smile. It’s in Darwen, UK, but hasn’t been planted so far this year.

A spray-painted vintage car is parked as an advert outside a cafe in Clarksdale, MS. The rectangular building is Ground Zero Blues Club.

The above was at a seed company that specialises in heritage seeds, but I forget where. I’ll not be surprised, this being a small world, if a horticulturally-inclined reader is able to remind me.

I was delighted to spot this camouflaged car at a garage, but would not have been delighted had I been called upon to clean it. If cars set out to become fashion designers, this will be the way they’ll go. Imagine that runway!

I’m not sure whether the illuminated car was still being driven or was purely decorative.  Either way, it’s a way to brighten up those long winter nights.

    1. Thanks, Jo. I hope things are OK for you with the heat and fires, and have of course been thinking back to all the wonderful places we’ve ‘walked’, hoping they have escaped damage. Chastening times, but I read you’re headed over for a big celebration and am sending my very best wishes. I’ll re-read on the big screen soon.

  1. I vote for the one wearing the lights, though I admit I’d like a ride in the bright yellow one. (I might be one of the few in your readership who actually remember 1954!) “Container gardening” got a chuckle — good one!

    1. As these seem more decorative than functional, it would be prudent to imagine wearing a good pair of walking shoes for the return journey, just in case!

  2. This Foto challenge was not only fun but also unique. I especially liked the blue one with flowers, but the one with fairy lights was also eye catching.

  3. What a great idea, old cars and plants. We love it, dear Susan.
You made us smile with your collection of fine pictures.
    Wishing you all the best
