As we get ready to bid farewell to 2017 and welcome in 2018, I thought I would share this handy reference tool, the Gnome Snow Gauge, with very best wishes for a happy new year.

Great! I want one too!
I like the way he has a pet rabbit to keep him company.
That thing is creepy!
It’s not easy keeping cheerful when you’ve been up to your hat in snow.
😄😄😄
He’s a rather smart gnome, is he an antique one?
He was liberated from a Dutch garden centre about 15 years ago – or rather, ransomed because money did change hands.
Cute. Best wishes for 2018 to you too.
Thank you!
Brilliant! So clever. Happy new year!
Thanks Margaret. Happy New Year.
Oh that is too cute! Just the sort of silly humor I enjoy! Lol! Have a happy and healthy New Year!
Thanks – and the same to you! I’m glad the Gnome Snow Gauge tickled your fancy.
Hee hee! So cute!
Just couldn’t resist…
It’s about time a gnome earned his keep! Mostly I see them just lolling about, but this one and his rabbit serve nobly. Such monuments to patience, which is a good thing to think about going into 2018. I wish us all a lot of it. Happy new year, Susan — and to all your lively commenters!
Happy New Year to you too, Maureen. These two are exceptionally dutiful. It must have been tempting for them to abandon their post and take shelter in a shed or under a shrub.
A handy weatherman! Happy New Year!
Thank you – and the same to you!
made me smile – happy new year!
Thanks Julz. Happy New Year!
I had to laugh. Hope theres gno more snow in 2018…
Glad you enjoyed it egnome-ously.
One good reason for having a gnome in the garden.😀
They only work within fairly slim tolerances – once the hat gets submerged, that’s it.
