Those patterns on the ceiling look amazing 😍
You can’t see from this picture, as it’s so high up, but the ceiling vaults include coloured bosses of flowers and heraldic creatures and motifs – there’s even a mermaid with a comb and mirror.
Oh wow :O this is why I love travel, There’s always more behind the lenses 🙂

[J] So uplifting. And how good not to have a great big mediaeval rood screen blocking the view through to the altar. This view is how it was always meant to be, before ecclesiastics decided that the common folk shouldn’t be allowed to actually see anything that was going on.
I agree – it’s a very uplifting sight. It’s amazing that this is a parish church of a beautiful old market town with a population of just 9,523 at the last census.
There are realms beyond words, and here is proof. Thank you.
