Coreopsis flowers paint Trentham Garden’s wildflower meadow yellow even as the night draws in. There’s no such thing as a dull day with these around!

Marvelous colors !
They’re very bold with the brown eyes – they make me think of eggs through some process of reversal.
I adore wildflower meadows – this one is gorgeous!
I wouldn’t have predicted this mix, but it is very cheerful. The other flowers (mainly cornflowers and Queen Anne’s Lace) play a great supporting role.
What a glorious sight!
It must attract insects from miles around.
Yes!
Beautiful đŸ˜€
Thanks, Cee.
Your usual skilful perspective
I know you’ll join me in celebrating those who make gardens beautiful so we can capture them.
Yep
Fabulous.
Thanks, Chloris.
That is gorgeous!!! I’ve never seen Coreopsis growing wild with a dark eye like that.
I’m not sure these count as wild as a swathe has been planted in a garden, although I suppose if they naturalise they would be wildish. You’ve set me off wondering whether weeds are weeds if planted on purpose… I suppose they are, but I have so often heard ‘a weed is a plant out of place’ that it gives me pause. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t see coreopsis as weeds, but I know some people do.
I suppose a deliberately planted weed would not be a weed to the person who planted it.
Glorious …
