Weekend Whimsy: Smiling Flower

Smiling lily

I’ve been trying to write a post for the weekly photo challenge but it’s all been going ‘orribly wrong. Various drafts and ideas later, I have a plea for help awaiting the attention of the WordPress Happiness Engineers as I’ve somehow succeeded in losing the attachment pages for some of my most recent rose pictures. That means if you click ’em, you get a non-too-entertaining-after-a-while ‘Oops’ error message page.

Safari has piqued my sense of irony by suggesting I short cut the process and skip direct to the error page in future, by helpfully(?) listing it among my favourite internet pages. Safari has a point. I need to change tack. I need something cheerful.

So I’m sharing this picture of a smiling flower. It may not be my best picture, but you have to admit it’s cheery. And I’ll also indulge in an:

In with anger (to be said while breathing inwards)
and an
Out with love (to be said while exhaling deeply. There are soothing hand gestures to go with it too, but I’ll have to leave those to your imagination). That’s a cure for most ills.

I hope you’re having a very happy weekend and, if things are not going perfectly, that this flower will be the tonic you need. I’m confident that most of my regular visitors will spot it, but for anyone who can’t, it’s the one in the bottom right.

I’m linking to Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge. Normal service will be resumed before too long.

  1. As the photo was unfolding down my screen, the face took me by surprise. Yep, LOL. A good antidote to the vexations du jour. As far as I’m concerned, these machines are just one big oops — gardens are SO much easier to understand. I do hope those happiness engineers solve the problem.

    1. I’d visited it so many times while trying to sort out the post. I wish I could walk down the corridor, put my head into an office and find out for sure how it all works! It started when I deleted a few pictures from a draft post, only to find them still appearing in some circumstances. In an effort to put that right without losing the whole post, I foolishly copied it to make a new post, then deleted the original one, losing the attachment pages in the process. My guess is they are linked to the first post the image is used with. I was tempted to experiment to find out more, but took the hint from Safari and overcome the impulse with my happy flower.
