    I like the abstract quality of these. The first one is my favorite because of the way the plant in the foreground (do you know what it is, by the way? some kind of fern?) goes all the way past the edge of the frame. That adds to the overall pattern-ness of the photo. These are the kind of images that always make wonder what they would look like blown up really big, like maybe filling the wall of a room, thus creating an atmosphere of being enveloped by nature.

    You’re right, it’s some kind of fern, newly emerging. I took the pictures at Sissinghurst and have always liked them, even though they’re not classically correct. My sweetheart thinks it needs a rock or something like that, but I’m not really interested in creating perspective – quite the reverse & enjoying the natural patterns as if they were flat, like wild surface print designs.
